KOCHI: The eighth accused Dileep's plot in order to assassinate Baiju K Paulose, the investigating officer in the actress assault case, was similar to the plot of Mammootty movie 'The Truth', police said.

On November 15, 2017, at Dileep's 'Padmasarovaram' House in Aluva, Dileep's brother instructed Anoop to kill the officer, similar to the plot of the movie Truth.

Investigators have confirmed this in an audio sample provided by director Balachandra Kumar. Balachandra Kumar has also stated that the plan was to kill in a cinematic manner.

Apart from Padmasarovaram, the conspiracy took place in the Mather apartment in Ravipuram, Ernakulam and in a running car.

The probe team has intensified the proceedings ahead of the verdict on the anticipatory bail of the accused, including Dileep, on Monday. Their voice test will be conducted after Monday.

The Truth

The Truth is a 1998 film written by SN Swamy and directed by Shaji Kailas. The story is about the accused plotting to blow up a DySP, who is an enemy, at a function attended by the Chief Minister and prevent the investigation from reaching them. The climax is Mammootty, who did the role of a Special Cell Investigation Officer, arresting the culprits.

A notice will be soon issued to Sharath

The probe team will issue a notice to Sharath, who is suspected to be the VIP who has handed over the footage of the attack on the actress to Dileep, to appear for questioning. He was given notice once but did not appear. Sharath's house was later raided and his passport confiscated. The notice was withdrawn by the Crime Branch last week. Sharath is seeking anticipatory bail. The notice will be issued after the verdict on Monday. The Crime Branch says that director Balachandra Kumar is now a witness. Depending on the progress of the case, it will be decided whether to make him an approver or accused. Dileep's lawyer had told the court that Balachandra Kumar would also be a accused in there was a conspiracy.

Dileep is also a good actor

Balachandra Kumar has denied allegations of Dileep's lawyer that the soundtrack was forged by Balachandra Kumar. "The audio recording I recorded was not edited. There are small and large files.
