THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Swapna Suresh, accused in a gold smuggling case, said that Sivasankar, the former Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, was a part of her personal life. She revealed that she never expected Sivasankar to write something like this in a book as he was part of the family.

Swapna said that the iPhone was not given as a birthday present to Sivasankar but the Consul General gave it to her to present it to the IAS officer. "I gave him birthday presents and other gifts that I bought with my own money. I have given a lot of presents to Sivasankar and if it was a birthday present, he would not keep it at home for many days", she said.

Swapna admitted that he had to react against Sivasankar suddenly because of the book and said that it was not right to deceive the people by writing such a book. "When the luggage was stopped by the customs, I informed Sivasankar about it. He didn't say he won't interfere but the baggage will be released in due time", she added.

Swapna revealed that she had not gone into hiding and had gone to Bengaluru for fear of the case and had spoken to Shivshankar on the way. Swapna said that she went to Bengaluru as per the instructions of Sivasankar, Sarith and others.
