THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The accused in the gold smuggling case, Swapna Suresh, has said that he had a personal relationship with former Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan.

"P. Sreeramakrishnan has visited my house many times and he used to dine at my house. He knew I was not a diplomat. I do not know he is lying now," she said. Swapna also said she has not called any minister or MLA or any official for her purpose.

'Sarith was first arrested by customs in connection with the case. It was on July 5th. I have not been in contact with anyone since that afternoon. The last time I spoke was with Sivasankar. I went to Sarith's house after he was arrested. The condition of his house was bad. At this time, Customs had asked me to report. Sivasankar call me after this and told me not to go.
