KOCHI: Actor Dileep has informed the court that the audio recordings produced by the prosecution against him for allegedly plotting to assassinate investigators were recorded using mimicry artists. He told the high court that he could prove this after getting a copy of the audio clips. This was stated in the arguments filed yesterday in the anticipatory bail petition.
Dileep said that many of the allegations made against him by the prosecution are false and that they were insufficient to prove conspiracy.
According to the prosecution, the conspiracy took place at the Mather flat owned by Manju Warrier on Ernakulam MG Road. However, there was no such flat on MG Road. Mather Dover Court Apartment is located on Srikantham Road. He added that the flat was in his name.
The prosecution did not collect the statement of Salim, an NRI businessman from Aluva. It is learned that the complaint filed by Salim regarding financial issues is with the Crime Branch office.
According to the prosecution, Dileep had threatened the investigating officer on January 31, 2018, on the premises of the trial court. However, the case reached the trial court only n 2019.
The voice in the audio clip claiming to be Anoop's has not been recognised. Dileep said that he refused to cooperate with the investigation team when he was forced to confess things that he did not know.
According to Balachandra Kumar, when he called Das on October 26, 2021, he told him Dileep was discussing about Balachandra Kumar at his house. However, Dileep said that Dasan had left his job from his house in 2020.
