JAMMU: The Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead three Pakistani smugglers in the international border in Jammu Kashmir’s Samba sector. The incident took place on Sunday morning while they were allegedly trying to smuggle drugs. 36 packets of heroin worth Rs 180 crore have been recovered.

The BSF received information about smuggling in the border at around 2:30am. The three smugglers were killed in the subsequent firings. A BSF jawan was also injured in the encounter.

A similar incident had occurred in the India-Pakistan border in Gurdaspur in Punjab on last January 28. A total of 47kg of heroin, two pistols and some ammunition hadbeen recovered.
