THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has said that he will file a review petition in the Lokayukta against Minister Bindu. He stated that the court did not consider the governor's revelations and did not accept his argument to include Chief Minister in the case.
The Lokayukta's verdict on this issue is similar to insulting the complainant. Following the Governor's revelations in the appointment of Kannur VC, a complaint was filed to include the Chief Minister in the list of defendants. Chennithala alleged that the verdict was announced without acknowledging this.
The Lokayukta has no doubt that Minister Bindu has recommended the reappointment of Gopinath Raveendran as Kannur VC. Any recommendations made in complete disregard of the rules are serious. This recommendation is an example of misuse of power. Announcing a verdict without considering these matters is a violation of the duty vested in the Lokayukta. The Governor's revelation that the Chief Minister was involved in the re -appointment of the VC is also very serious. Ramesh Chennithala clarified that the review petition is being filed in this situation.
