AHMEDABAD: The West Indies suffered a setback in the first ODI due to a spin knock by India. The Indian bowling line-up proved that Rohit Sharma's decision to send the West Indies to bat after winning the toss was the right one. Batting first, West Indies were all out for 176 in 43.5 overs. The West Indies' situation would have been even worse had it not been for Jason Holder's 57 runs.
Performances of spinners Washington Sunder and Yusvendra Chahal were commendable. Chahal took four wickets and Sundar tookthree. Prasid Krishna took one wicket and Mohammad Siraj took one wicket. In reply, India got off to a good start. At last count, India's score was 70 for no loss in 11 overs. Captain Rohit Sharma (50) and youngster Ishant Kishan (15) are at the crease.
