THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a shocking incident, a woman was stabbed to death in broad daylight in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident took place at Ambalammukku near Peroorkada. The deceased has been identified as Nedumangad native Vinithamol (38), an employee of Agri-Clinic Tabs Green Tech plant nursery at Ambala Nagar. She suffered three stab wounds on her neck. Vinathamol was attacked using a knife that was used for cutting grass. The body was found among the plants in the narrow part of the shop.
Vinitha joined the job ten months ago. Despite Sunday being a holiday, she reached the nursery after owner Thomas Mammon asked her to water the plants. It was Vinitha's colleague Sunitha who discovered the body. On Sunday afternoon, two people reached the nursery to buy plants. They called the owner since they did not see anyone there. Following this, Thomas Mammon called Sunitha and asked her to go to the nursery. Thomas Mammon, a native of Nalanchira, is the retired Assistant Director of the Department of Agriculture.
Vinitha's relatives said that a gold chain was missing from her body. The nursery's collection amount of Rs 25,000 was found in the handbag. Vinitha's husband Senthil Kumar had passed away 2 years ago.
