THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The rising death rates in the third Covid wave are alarming. 2107 Covid deaths were recorded in the state in the last 37 days. Nine children, including two new-born babies were among the dead.

The list is rising daily with the hidden deaths coming out. A total of 522 deaths were reported daily during the second wave. As of now, 58,255 Covid deaths were reported in the state.

26,729 positive cases were recorded yesterday. 22 Covid deaths were also reported. In addition to this, 115 deaths reported in the previous days, whose documents were received late, were also added to yesterday’s death toll. 378 deaths, that have gone for appeal as per the new central government guidelines following Supreme court’s verdict, have also been recorded.
