NEW DELHI: The country reported 83,876 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours. There is a 22 percent decrease in the cases as compared to yesterday’s data. With this the test positivity rate (TPR) has dropped to 7.25 percent. This is the first time in a month that the country’s daily Covid cases have gone below one lakh.
895 Covid deaths were recorded yesterday, raising the total deaths to 5,02,874. Currently, 11,08,938 people are undergoing Covid treatment. 1,9 9,054 people have recovered the previous day. The Covid recovery rate in the country has increased to 96.19 percent. Kerala has recorded the highest number of Covid cases in the country. Maharashtra stands second in the list, with 9,666 cases. Karnataka and Tamil Nadu are in third and fourth places with 8,425 and 6,120 cases respectively. Madhya Pradesh, with 5,171 new cases, occupies the fifth place.
