KOTTAYAM: Vava Suresh, who was undergoing treatment at the Kottayam Medical College Hospital after a cobra bit him, has been discharged from the hospital. ‘This is my second birth and I will continue to catch snakes,’ Vava told reporters at the hospital. ‘The timely treatment helped me a lot. I have decided to continue catching snakes. Some people had conspired against me. An official of the forest department has told many people not to call me to catch snakes. I will not withdraw from catching snakes till I die,’ said Vava Suresh. Minister V N Vasavan was also with him in the hospital. Many thronged the hospital to see him.

Suresh said that he needs rest even after reaching home. The doctors have asked me to be very careful and avoid visitors as there is a risk of getting infected. The injury has not yet completely healed. Taking medicines for it now, he said.

A cobra bit him on January 31st at Kurichy in Kottayam. The snake bit him on his thigh when he was transferring the reptile to a sack. Even after it bit him, Suresh went to the hospital only after catching it. His heartbeat was only 20% when he was first admitted to the private hospital. Minister V N Vasan later intervened and shifted him at the intensive care unit of Kottayam Medical College Hospital.
