THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police exposed more CCTV footages of the person suspected to be the accused in the murder of Vinitha, an employee of an plant nursery at Ambalamukku in Peroorkada.
He is seen riding pillion on a scooter. He asked for a lift from Muttada and is seen going to Kesavadasapuram side. Meantime, the police have not received any further information about him or the person riding the scooter.
Police got the visuals of the youth walking near the plant nursery around 11 am on Sunday, the day of the murder and returning at 11.20 am. During this time, many others who passed by were identified and monitored by the police, but only the youth wearing a full-sleeved shirt and pants, with a hat and a mask, could not be identified.
An auto driver said that he hired his vehicle from Santhwana Junction to go to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College area but got off at Muttada. Many people saw the youth walking towards a desolate place near the Alappuram pond through the Cherukot lane and returning in a bike. Police conducted an extensive search near the pool on suspicion that he had come to change his blood-stained clothes. Police collected information from many locals there.
Police conducting search for the accused are looking for information similar to him. The police are finding an answer as to how the youth knew that Vinitha was alone in the nursery. Police is not seeing the murder as an accidental one.
The police concluded that the murder may have been committed for robbery or some other purpose. The probe is planned to be extended outside Kerala. The main challenge for the police is to identify the culprit. The City Police Commissioner's Office said anyone with any information should contact the police.
