THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has rejected the criticism that there was some delay from the part of the state government in rescuing Babu, who was trapped in the Cheradu hill cleft in Malampuzha. The CM said that there were certain steps to be taken in the event of a disaster and the government had acted accordingly. According to the CM, certain groups in the state always ignore the positive aspects and portray things in a bad light.

"Certain groups in the state tend to criticise everything. Certain procedures are to be followed in the event of such a disaster. Things were moved accordingly. The fact is that the interventions there were carried out with precision. The state sought the Army's help when other forces failed to rescue the youth. They intervened very effectively. It can be seen that there was no delay of any kind. However, a section of people in our state tends to overlook the positive aspects. They are interested in portraying things in a bad light. Unfortunately, that is the mentality of the Opposition in the state," the CM said.
