cm-sivasankar

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who arrived at his office in the North Block of the Secretariat on Wednesday after his abroad trip, was visited by Principal Secretary M. Sivashankar. After suspension, Sivashankar was unable to meet CM. The meeting took place amidst of controversy about Sivashankar's autobiography 'Ashwadhamavu verum oru aana'.

But it is learned that the Chief Minister did not pay much attention to Shivshankar. No one else was in the room at this time. Sivasankar came outside soon after entering the chamber and returned after talking to CM's private secretary K K Ragesh. It is said that CM is quite dissatisfied with all these controversies about the autobiography. Sivshankar is currently the Principal Secretary of the Sports Department.

Former Principal Secretary to CM, M.S. Sivashankar returned to service on January 4 last year. Cabinet meetings were mostly online as the CPM was busy with district conventions these days. CM also did not spend much time in the capital. He later went to US for treatment.

After returning to service, Shivshankar visited the CM on Wednesday as per his custom of visiting a top official. At the same time, it is unlikely that action will be taken against Sivashankar, since there are no references to the government in the autobiography.

CM justified Sivashankar during his press conference.

CM said in a press conference that there is nothing wrong with sharing one's own experience in a book.

The issue whether Sivashankar's book is given permission or not is technical. In the book, Sivshankar makes strong allegations against the media and investigative agencies in connection with the gold smuggling case. The reaction of those who were hurt by the content of his book is quite natural. The CM also said that those who were criticized in the book may have a special grudge. The police are investigating the case of Swapna Suresh's fake degree certificate. There will be no lapse in investigation. The Chief Minister said in a press conference that the inquiry will not biased but on the basis of justice. When it was asked whether the book was written with the prior permission of govt, CM did not reply.
