THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in a press conference that his five-day visit to the UAE was a great success and that their response was a great boost to Kerala's efforts to overcome the obstacles which hinder the progress. When the Covid situation improves, a group of high-level delegates from the Abu Dhabi Chamber will visit Kerala for strengthening cooperation in the commercial and industrial sector. The decision was made during a meeting with chamber chairman Abdullah Mohammed al-Masroi.
After CM's discussion with UAE Minister of International Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Sudi, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation Dr Abdul Rahman Abdul Manan Al Awar, Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Minister of Industry and Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Sultan Ahmed bin Jabir, they expressed readiness to co-operate in the development of Kerala.
Hotpack has expressed desire to invest Rs 200 crore and Muralya has agreed to invest Rs 100 crore. In addition, Trans World and Sharaf Group have also expressed interest in investing. Abu Dhabi Royal Family and UAE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, a cabinet minister, said in the meeting that continuity of governance in Kerala would help for development. When CM arrived in UAE for a five-day visit, he received a warm welcome from the UAE authorities and Malayalee expatriates. He was accompanied by Lulu Group Chairman and NORKA Vice Chairman M.A. Yousafali. The Chief Minister also thanked Indian Ambassador Sanjay Sudhir.
CM also said that attempts to create communal divisions in the society must be given serious consideration. He spoke about recent controversies on Shah Rukh Khan attending Lata Mangeshkar's funeral and hijab row controversy in Karnataka.
