THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPI has softened its stance against the SilverLine project. The party stated its stance in a note for political reporting at branch conferences. 'The party supports the SilverLine project. The project is being implemented as part of development. The UDF and the BJP are raising the agitation against the SilverLine,' the note read.

The CPI stated that it will not allow any activities that weaken the Left Front and will correct any political deviation in the LDF. 'The CPI has corrected the LDF in the past when it deviated from its political approach. The CPI, the main party in the front, needs to be strengthened to maintain its identity,' the note added. Meanwhile, there was no mention of the Lokayukta issue in the note.
