THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister KN Balagopal said that the Finance Ministry has sanctioned Rs 40 crore for the salaries of KSRTC employees and Rs 70.78 crore for consortium of co-operative banks for the June 2021 pension scheme.
The total amount already paid for salaries from March 2021 to January 2022 is Rs 823.18 crore. This was allowed as an aid during the Covid outbreak, when bus services were not regular.
The government also repays the consortium of co-operative banks, which provides pension to KSRTC employees. Rs 752.16 has been repaid in this financial year alone.
Rs 220 crore was given to repay the loan taken by KSRTC, from consortium of public sector banks. Rs 20.9 crore was given for diesel and Rs. 3.06 crore for toll The government has also sanctioned Rs 1.65 crore to SBI Markets Limited.
1000 crore was allotted to KSRTC in this years budget. However, the government has already given Rs 1,821.65 crore to KSRTC, he said.
