THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSEB declared in an official press release that deploying State Industrial Security Force (SISF), for the security of KSEB's dams, power stations and major institutions will be of no extra cost.
The armed police force now in charge of security will be replaced. SISF is a professional force trained in industrial security. Existing veterans will continue.
Security will not create difficulties for staff or visitors, but necessary restrictions will be imposed on commercially important and strategic areas by deploying troops.
The board has a total of 321 security personnel. Passes will be issued to non-employees from 3 to 6 pm, the visitors time.
Police security bills are also being included in dept's electricity charges. The SISF troops have been deployed following the Central and State Security Audit Report. The Data Center at the company headquarters and the Load Despatch Centers at Kalamassery and Thiruvananthapuram will also be in charge of the Industrial Security Force.
SISF has been deployed following the govt's policy to provide extra security to government-owned companies with a turnover of Rs 300 crore. KSEB said that these recommendations were under board's consideration for more than two years.
"It will not cost much to implement the new security system. No one will lose their job and it won't cause difficulties to employees and the public.", said Dr. B. Ashok, KSEB Chairman and Managing Director
