THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The second Pinarayi government has 70 percent success in the projects of Rs 2464.92 crore announced to be completed within 100 days. Home, land, school and health sectors did more than the announcement. The job creation announcement came close to being a success. Vidyasree laptop and People's Pump did not materialize. It was interrupted by the second wave of Covid. However, many of the remaining projects in the announcement were later completed.

Announcements and results

The plan to provide 50,000 laptops to school children failed to materialize. Only eight of 75 People's Petrol Pumps announced to begin in KSRTC's unused areas have started in 100 days. The state-wide 100 Take A Break toilet project for passengers has not reached its target.

The 100-day plan aims at the holistic development of all sectors. More than half of the projects announced in the 32 departments were completed on time. In the next few weeks, many departments completed projects that could not be completed within 100 days due to Covid and administrative problems. It is estimated that the 100-day plan has helped speed up the administration of new ministers from the beginning.

One hundred day idea as a victory mantra

The idea of 100 day plans came up in the last year of the first Pinarayi Vijayan government. The ten point plan was announced as an Onam gift in August 2020, a Christmas gift in December and a New Year gift in 2021. Immediately after the continuation of the rule, the first 100 day plan was announced on June 11, 2021 and the second 100-day plan on February 9.
