THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 26th International Film Festival (IFFK), which was postponed due to Covid surge, will be held from March 18 to 25 in Thiruvananthapuram. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the festival on Friday, March 18 at 6 pm at the Nishagandhi Auditorium.

The eight-day festival will feature over 180 films in 14 theaters. The 26th IFFK features the International Competition category of films from Asian, African and Latin American countries, the World Cinema category, which includes the latest films, Indian Cinema Now and Malayalam Cinema Today. A retrospective tribute to the late actor Nedumudi Venu has been included this time.

One of the highlights of the 26th fair is the Films from Conflict package, which shows life in conflict-ridden countries. Films from Afghanistan, Burma and Kurdistan are included.

The FIPRESCI Critics' Week will feature a package of films that have won FIPRESCI awards at various international festivals over the past two years.
