PALAKKAD: The police have appointed a special team to investigate into the death of youths in the KSRTC bus accident in Palakkad. A team led by Kuzhalmandam circle inspector will investigate the allegations made by the youths’ parents.

The team will also probe into the allegation that only weak sections have been imposed against the arrested C L Ousep, a native of Pattikkad in Thrissur and a driver of Wadakkancherry Operating Centre. If necessary, more sections will be imposed, informed the police. The detailed statements of the youths’ relatives and the passengers, who were on the bus during the accident, will be taken.

Some of the passengers had told the youths’ relatives that there was an argument between the driver and the youths before the accident, following which the accused took revenge on them. The passengers’ statements will be taken for bringing clarity into the matter. CCTV footages from the nearby areas will also be examined.

The families of the two youths have demanded to remove the driver from service and to press murder charges against him. The accident occurred in Kuzhalmandam on last Monday. Two youths namely, Adarsh Mohan, a native of Kavassery in Palakkad and Sabith, a native of Kasaragode, were killed in the accident.
