KOCHI: Two persons, including a woman, were arrested on charges of trying to extort money from a restaurant owner through honey trap. The arrested persons have been identified as Fort Kochi native Rinsina (29) and Shahjahan aka Shaji (25).

After having food from the restaurant, Rinsina went to the hospital claiming that she was feeling unwell. She then called the restaurant owner and asked him to come to the hospital. When the restaurant owner arrived, he was taken hostage in a room. Following this, Shahjahan recorded a video of Rinsina and the restaurant owner. The two then demanded money from him while threatening to release the video. Rinsina's boyfriend and another man continued to threaten him and demand money even after he paid the amount.

Following this, he filed a complaint with the Mattancherry police. The woman had also snatched the restaurant owner's ID cards and money. The accused were soon arrested by the police. Upon questioning, the accused told the police that they had trapped several other persons in a similar fashion.
