KOTTAYAM: An electric line burst down on a running train in Kothanellor. The electric line broke down with a loud noise when Kerala Express was passing. The incident happened at 4.30 pm and the train was immediately stopped.

The locals who rushed to the spot found out that the loud noise was from the electric line rupture. It is learned that the electric lines were damaged for a distance of about one kilometre. No one was injured in the accident. At present, the railway authorities have not reached the spot. With this, the train services on the Kottayam route is almost completely disrupted.

It is learned that trains on the Kottayam route might be delayed or diverted. It took 21 hours for the railways to clear the Puthukkad train derailment on Friday.
