KOCHI: A B.Tech student has been arrested by the excise department for possessing 'California 9' LSD stamp, a deadly synthetic drug.23 year old Aashiq T Suresh, of Thekkecheruvil house, a native of Idukki Kanchiyar Pezhukandam, was arrested with five LSD stamps. It is the strongest LSD stamp available in the country.
Excise had arrested a man with MDMA from Vytila the previous day. Aashiq was arrested in connection with the case. He delivers LSD stamps from Bangalore by post at a cost of Rs 2,000 each. It will be resold for Rs 7,000. Ashiq was arrested by false pretention as a buyer.
More information will be gathered to find Aashiq's customers who leads a luxurious life. Those getting caught will be given counseling and treatment. The accused was arrested by an excise team led by Ernakulam Range Inspector MS Haneefa. The investigation team comprised of Assistant Inspectors K.R. Ram Prasad, K.V. Baby, Preventive Officer K.U. Rishikesh, S Suresh Kumar and shadow team members N.D. Tommy, N.G. Ajit Kumar. Civil excise officers Jomon and Jitish were also present.

There are 124 types of LSD stamps in the world. The most deadly of these is 'California 9'. They belong to the three-dot category and are sold in 20 different names. Possession of five LSD stamps is a crime punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Death can occur if it becomes overdose.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that LSD stamp manufacturing units are operating in Bangalore as well. It is suspected that Africans who settled in Bangalore were behind this. Excise is preparing to trace them with the help of Karnataka police.
