THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The police will collect evidence with the accused in the Ambalamukku murder case, on Sunday. The evidence will be collected from the nursery. The accused will be brought to the nursery to find out the manner in which the murder was committed. The police are yet to find the murder weapon and the clothes the accused wore while committing the crime.
The police had arrested the accused, Rajesh alias Rajendran (39), son of Daniel of Rajeev Nagar in Vellamandam Vembattoor in Thovala, Kanyakumari, on Friday. A detailed investigation will be conducted to find out whether the accused was involved in any other crimes in the state. The police have decided to file a charge sheet and start the trial within three months.
The dead has been identified as Vinithamol (38) of Karipur Charuvilakonathu house in Nedumangad. The crime was committed to steal the woman’s gold necklace. Rajendran is an accused in four murder cases in Tamil Nadu. The police said the accused is a post graduate in Economics and often invests money in stock markets. The money obtained after selling Vinitha’s necklace was also invested in the stock market.
Vinitha was found dead amidst bushes, in a narrow path on the left side of the nursery, around Sunday noon. Some customers who had come to buy plants, called the owner on the number written on the board, as no one was seen in the nursery. The owner had sent another employee to the nursery as Vinitha did not pick up her phone. It was the employee who found the dead body.
