LUCKNOW: The hijab controversy that began in Karnataka has become a hot topic of discussion across the country. Numerous people have come in support as well as against hijab. A girl who wears hijab will become the Prime Minister of India one day, said All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi, while addressing an election rally in Uttar Pradesh. Girls should wear hijabs, he said.
Owaisi also lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, over the hijab controversy, during his election campaign in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. Modi talks about empowering women through the triple talaq law. Is this ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padao?’, asked Owaisi in context of the hijab controversy. He also lauded the girl who wore burqa despite the protests from those who came wearing saffron shawls in Karnataka. This is the courage that every Muslim should have, he added.
