NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), alleged Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, while addressing the ‘Navi Soch Nava Punjab’ poll rally in Kotkapura in Punjab. It is important to know the truth about political parties and their leaders. AAP emerged from the RSS, she said.
Priyanka Gandhi criticized the AAP while campaigning for Ajaipal Singh Sandhu, the Congress candidate from Kotkapura. She warned the people to not get fooled by AAP’s claim that they will bring Delhi model in Punjab. “They said they will bring their Delhi Model. Do not forget in 2014, the BJP fooled people by saying they will bring Gujarat Model. Do not get fooled by AAP this time. The Punjab government should be run from Punjab, not from Delhi as will be done if AAP or BJP come to power”, she said.
Priyanka also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during her campaign. ‘Many people lost their lives in the farmers’ agitation but you all did not bow down. That’s Punjabiyat. I understand Punjabiyat. You all know I married a Punjabi man. My children have Punjabi blood. Punjabi people have brave hearts’, she said. Punjab will go to polls on February 20. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
