IRINJALAKUDA: Police are hoping that the Anees murder case in Irinjalakuda will have some clues after the arrest of Rajendran from Kanyakumari in the murder case of Vineetha. Investigators are suspicious over the similarities in the murders of Anees and Vineetha.

The investigation into Anees' murder was initially started as a murder to steal jewellery. Forensic experts conducted an examination but to no avail. Vineetha also died of a deep neck injury. Anees had a similar cut on her neck. Both murders were committed to steal jewellery.

The day before, the probe team had received a number of calls following the publication of Rajendran's picture in the media. Officials hope to find information that will help the investigation in the coming days. Officials said they were also planning to question Rajendran. It is learned that Rajendran will be questioned once the investigation in Thiruvananthapuram is completed. The probe team is looking into whether Rajendran worked in Irinjalakuda or nearby areas during the 2019 period using the same or different names.

They are also looking to find out if he has been involved in hotels, butcher shops, or any other occupation. The Crime Branch is mainly investigating whether Rajendran had reached the Irinjalakuda area in 2019 when Anees was killed in East Kombara. Anees' body was found decapitated inside his home around 6:30 pm on November 14, 2019.
