PALAKKAD: One was found in a search conducted following a suspicion of people climbing the Kurumbachi Hill again. The officials of the forest department at the end of the search conducted found a local man identified as Radhakrishnan. Seeing flash lights on top of the hill at night, the locals informed the forest department.
Though more lights were flashed, only one was found. He was found at around 12 am. Radhakrishnan, who was exhausted was brought down safely and then shifted him to Palakkad district hospital.
23-year-old Babu of Palakkad got trapped in the prohibited forest area Kurumbachi Hill on February 9. Babu who climbed the Cherad Hill along with two of his friends, was rescued by the army. He spent 45 hours in the hill without food and water.
Meantime, Forest Minister A K Saseendran said action would be taken if climbed the hill without permission. Babu had violated law but was granted a temporary reprieve. The minister said that no one will be allowed to climb the hill under that cover.
