THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has said that it is not the government but it is the party that decides and implements matters in the state. He reacted harshly against the CPM in the incident where the shops were closed following the blockade of the load workers union in Mathamangalam. His Facebook post says:
SR Associates in Mathamangalam has been shut down by its owner, due to 50 days strike under the leadership of CITU. Afzal, who was attacked by CITU members for buying goods from the shop, also closed down his computer company. The incident took place in the Chief Minister's own district Kannur. Yet the government does not seem to know. According to the Labor Minister, SR Associates do not have a license.
When the Eramkuttur Grama Panchayat Secretary clarified that he had a license, the minister's statement became invalid. The owner of the company is accused of obtaining a High Court order to hire his own workers for loading. CITU workers first entered the shop and attacked the employees. Then they started the blockade. Those who came into the shop were stopped, threatened and physically assaulted. With this, the owner of the company, who invested Rs 70 lakh, closed down the shop.
Hon'ble Chief Minister, What is happening in Kerala? Is this an investment-friendly environment? CM and his ministers went abroad to invite foreign investment. On the other hand, domestic investors are forced to commit suicide in the name of job security. This is not an isolated incident.
Who forced Thalliparambu resident and businessman Sajan to commit suicide? Why did Sugathan, who started a workshop in Punalur, Kollam, had to commit suicide? The CPM and the Left Front cannot escape from this guilt.
It is the party, not the government, that rules here. The party decides and then implements. Even the Chief Minister has no control over this. Expatriates are invited to invest. Investors are then tortured by parties and institutions forced to shut down. This is cruelty. Government policy is different from its action. The groom's friend was killed in a bomb blast at a wedding party in Kannur.
Bomb-making and attacks are regular in Kannur. The CPM has always been involved in it. Kannur has leaders who said they would bomb the police station if needed. What do they have to say now? Violence and gangsterism have become regular in the state. The police are unable to do anything.
The party centres control the police. It is like an old-fashioned cell rule. What does the CM who controls the Home dept has to say now?
