KOZHIKODE: A woman, who escaped from the Kuthiravattom Mental Health Care Centre, has been found. The woman, who was found from Malappuram, has been shifted to the Malappuram women's cell. She had escaped after drilling the wall. Superintendent informed that a man also escaped from another ward.
A woman was killed last week following a fight between the inmates of the centre. The woman who escaped on Monday belonged to the same ward. The superintendent said the wall of the old building was soaked with water and then drilled with a utensil. The incident happened at 5.30 am.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Veena George has ordered an inquiry into the recent incidents that took place at mental health centres in Thrissur and Kozhikode. The inquiry will be conducted by the Health Department Deputy Director in charge of mental health. The health department is investigating the earlier incidents.
