THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government is unhappy with the appointment of Hari S Kartha, BJP state committee member and senior journalist, as Additional PA to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. The government stated in a statement to the Rajya Sabha that it was not customary to appoint active members of political parties to the governor's staff. The letter was submitted to the Raj Bhavan by Public Administration Secretary KR Jyothilal.

The government accepted the governor's recommendation to appoint Lord Hari S. An order in this regard was also issued. The government later clarified its dissatisfaction over the action.

Earlier, the UDF had also raised allegations regarding the appointment of Hari S Kartha to the governor's staff. The opposition alleged that the governor had signed the Lokayukta amendment to approve this demand.
