KOCHI: Swapna Suresh will be appearing before the Enforcement Directorate today to open up about the interventions behind her audio recording. Following the new revelations, the investigation team had issued a notice to Swapna asking her to appear on February 9. The date was changed to today due to health issues.

Swapna had come up with new revelations regarding the gold smuggling case since the release of M Sivasankar's autobiography. Earlier, Swapna had admitted that the audio recording of ED officials pressuring her to name the Chief Minister was fake. However, she had not revealed that IAS officer M Sivasankar was behind this. ED will ask if Swapna has anything to say contrary to the information in the book.

In December 2020, an audio clip in which Swapna can be heard saying that the CM and the government had no part in the gold smuggling case surfaced. Even after a year of the probe, the police were unable to prove that it was Swapna's voice in the voice clip. Swapna recently revealed that the audio clip was released in favour of the CM's office as per the instructions of Sivasankar. This has turned out to be new weapon for ED. ED will ask if she stands firm in the allegation.
