KOCHI: Swapna Suresh has sought time to testify in the gold smuggling case. She sought two days’ time citing health issues. The ED has given time as she appeared in person with the demand.
She appeared before the ED after meeting her lawyer. Along with Swapna, other accused Sarith had also met his lawyer. The ED had sent a notice to Swapna asking her to appear on February 9 but she did not appear citing health issues. She was asked to appear following her revelation that M Sivasankar, chief minister’s former principal secretary, was behind the audio clip that surfaced when she was in custody.
Swapna had alleged that Sivasankar knew everything and it was he who directed her to go hiding in Bengaluru. Her revelation was soon after the release of Sivasankar’s autobiography.
Wrong things have been mentioned in his book and said she responded against it. She said that she would cooperate with central agencies investigation on her revelation.
