THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Key information has surfaced in the Ambalamukku Vinitha murder case. It is learned that Rajendran, the accused in the case, gave the money obtained by mortgaging Vinitha's gold chain to two girlfriends.
The money was given to two women from a Kavalkinar in Anjugramam, where Rajendran hails from. Police searched the homes of these women. One of the women has gone into hiding. The woman is said to be in possession of the locket of Vinitha's necklace.
Rajendran told the police that the locket of Vinitha's necklace is in a lodge room at Kavalkinar. The investigating officers then went with him to Tamil Nadu. But nothing turned up in the inspection at the lodge.
The knife used to kill Vinitha has not been recovered yet. Evidence will be collected on Wednesday as well. Vinitha was killed on February 6. The body was found in a plant shop in Ambalamukku where the woman was working.
