ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has acknowledged the criticisms levelled against the Home Department that there were troublemakers in the police. "There are troublemakers in the police. Action will be taken against such officers," the CM said while acknowledging the criticism against the Home department.

The Chief Minister also warned against sectarianism in the CPM. "Party workers must put an end to sectarianism. Failure to do so will result in severe action. Certain comrades should examine the criticisms raised against them. Severe action will be taken against sectarianism. The leadership knows who exactly is leading the sectarianism. Either they should correct themselves or else, they will be corrected by the party," the CM said.

The Chief Minister pointed out that the CPI was an ally of the government and that it should not be viewed with hostility.
