ALAPPUZHA: A BJP activist was stabbed to death at Kumarapuram in the district. He has been identified as Sarath Chandran (26) of Varyamcod. It is informed that a dispute that broke out during a temple festival ended in the murder. Drug mafia is behind the murder, alleged the BJP.

There were complaints earlier that drug mafia groups in the district are continuously creating problems. This incident is the last in that. The murder was committed late last night. The police have identified that a seven-member team led by Nandu Prakash is behind this murder. Four people have been taken into custody, the police said.

Two youths had sustained stab injuries in Mavelikara in the last few days.
