KANNUR: One more person was taken into custody in connection with the bomb blast claiming the life of a youth amidst a marriage function in Thottada. The police have taken into custody Arun of Kadambur. He is the friend of Sanad, arrested earlier.

Sanad had come to the wedding house with a sword at the request of Mithun, another accused in the case. It was Arun who had given the sword, said the police. Arun’s arrest will be registered on Thursday.

The accused had initially said that they had bought the explosives from a firecracker shop in Thazhe Chovva. However, another firecracker dealer in Kannur had delivered the explosives to Mithun and his gang. The police have intensified search for him.

C M Jishnu (26) of Echur Balakandi house was killed in the blast. On the wedding eve, songs were played at the wedding house and Akshay, an accused in the case, disconnected the sound box. With this, a fight broke out between the two parties. Reports suggest that two fights happened at the wedding home that night.
