KOCHI: A slope was noticed in the track at Kochi Metro near Pathadipalam. The Kochi Metro Rail Limited has examined it. The snag was noticed while examining the track two weeks ago. Initial reports said the slope of the track is not serious.


The test run of Metro’s new line from Pettah to S N Junction was a success. Soon after this, the snag was detected at Pathadipalam. The cost of 1.8 km new line is Rs 453 crore. With the start of the service on the new line, the number of metro stations will rise to 24. The test run was part of commissioning the new line.


The Kochi Metro has now 22 stations in 25.16 kms presently. Preliminary steps have started to develop the road from S N Junction to Tripunithura.
