NEW DELHI: The Centre may announce an inquiry into the discovery that Chitra Ramakrishnan, former head of the National Stock Exchange, had passed on company secrets to an anonymous yogi in the Himalayas. SEBI has found that Chitra Ramakrishnan had leaked confidential information related to the National Stock Exchange via e-mail.
The investigation also found that Chitra Ramakrishnan had decided on the appointment and salary of the Chief Operating Officer of the Stock Exchange as per the instructions of an unknown yogi. She resigned as NSE Managing Director in 2016 following a disagreement with the Board of Directors.
The emails also revealed that the company's top secret information had been leaked to an anonymous yogi.
Chitra Ramakrishnan first met an anonymous yogi called Siddha Purush on the banks of the Ganga 20 years ago. Chitra sought the help of yogi for personal and work-related matters. Central government sources said that the probe would be ordered to identify the unidentified yogi as the matter concerns the country's financial security.
