THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has issued an order approving permanent appointments in Raj Bhavan again. The state government issued an order granting permanent appointment to Public Relations Officer (PRO) S D Prins.
The cabinet meeting on Thursday had decided to create the post of a photographer in governor’s secretariat at Raj Bhavan. P Dileep Kumar, who had been working on contract basis, was decided to make him permanent as per the governor’s recommendation. Shortly after that, the second permanent appointment was issued today.
There are hints that these appointments were included in the conditions placed by the governor in the policy address. S D Prins has been made permanent under the re-appointment system. Prins has served as the PRO in Kerala University as well as in the electricity board. He had retired from the service in 2020, but was working on contract basis in the Raj Bhavan. He has now been made permanent under the re-appointment system as per the governor’s recommendations. With the re-appointment, he will receive a salary equivalent to the post apart from his pension. In addition to the appointments, it was only after the replacement of General Administration Department (GAD) secretary K R Jyothilal, that the governor agreed to approve the policy address.
