THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The process of expeditious disposal of pending applications related to land conversion will begin soon. For this, training will be started within a month by recruiting 891 posts on temporary basis in Village, Taluk and RDO offices.
The posts, including 23 senior superintendents and 87 deputy tehsildars, will be created for six months. Of the 650 clerk posts, the recruitment will be done through employment exchange and through promotion in the remaining posts. The target is to settle the 140,000 pending applications in six months through Adalat proceedings.
The number of applications for change of property has increased as the payment of property tax has been made online. The online application has a column that specifies the current state of the property. The Revenue Department estimates that around 3 lakh new applications are likely to be received this year. .
Vehicles will be provided
One hundred or more applications were found to be pending in about 650 village offices. Three such village offices will be allotted one vehicle each. Vehicles will be hired for this. Where there are more than 2000 applications, each junior superintendent will be appointed.
