MUMBAI: The accused in the Varappuzha sexual assault case was killed and dumped in a well. Vinod Kumar, the accused, was murdered while he was absconding in Maharashtra. The dead body was found on Monday from a well in Kashid village in the Raigad district. The body was found tied to a rock and dumped in the well. The Maharashtra police have taken two people into custody in the incident. One among the two is a minor. The accused are residents of a nearby Adivasi colony.

Vinod, has been working in a resort in the area. A dispute during alcohol drinking had resulted in the murder, said the police. The body was cremated in Maharashtra itself.
