MANNAR: Two-tonne weighing four-hilt giant warp made by Mannar Bronze sculptors will be dedicated to Guruvayoorappan on Sunday. This giant warp was made by Ananthan Acharya and his son Anu Ananthan, who made golden flagstaff in several temples like Sabarimala, Ettumanoor and Paramekavu. Forty workers have worked tirelessly for three months to build the eleven-and-a-half-foot-diameter warp which is made of pure bronze. The warp is an offering by Palakkad native, Parameswaran Namboothiri and his family. Palpayasam offered to Guruvayoorappan will be made in the warp.

The warp, which was brought to Koothambalam with the help of a crane through the south side of the Guruvayur temple, will be handed over at 9.30 am on Sunday after Shiveli.

According to Ananthan Acharya, the heavy rains in December could have delayed its making but they were able to finsh it on time with Guruvayoorappan's blessings.
