THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With the arrival of all the students in classes 1 to 9 on Monday morning, the schools in Kerala will return to studies like the old times. In addition to classes until the evening, Saturdays will also be a working day.
47 lakh students will be attending classes simultaneously. The streets will be active with the presence of students. The schools, which were completely closed and then partially reopened following the Covid situation, are now fully operational after 23 months.
Class 10 and higher secondary were functioning as normal for some time now.
Online study is not mandatory but will continue for those with disabilities who are unable to attend school. Uniforms and attendance are not mandatory.
With just over a month and a few days to go before the end of the academic year, teachers are trying their best to finish the portions. Directions are given to complete SSLC and Plus Two portions before the 28th of this month. Lessons 1 to 9 will be completed in March and the examination will be held in April.

Cleaning at schools
Minister V Sivankutty inaugurated the state level cleaning of schools at SMV Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram. Director General of Education Jeevan Babu and District Collector Navjot Khosa were also present. Cleaning is progressing under the leadership of organizations and locals across the state.
