KOZHIKODE: Security breach again at the Government Mental Health Centre at Kuthiravattom. A 17-year-old girl, an inmate of the centre has escaped early Sunday morning. She escaped after breaking the tile. The police have intensified a search. The security breach was at the fifth ward where an inmate was killed.

A 21-year-old youth who escaped from the mental health centre yesterday has been found. He escaped through the ventilator of the bathroom. He was traced in Shornur. Two inmates went missing on February 14. They were later found in Malappuram.

A woman was killed in a clash that broke out between the inmates of the centre on February 9. There is not only a shortage of security personnel at the mental health centre but has a problem of having no single woman. There are 469 inmates here. Of these, 168 are women. There are only four temporary security employees here.
