DUBAI: When the appointment of Swapna Suresh, accused in the gold smuggling case, is stoking a controversy, the Human Resource Development Society (HRDS) came to the fore responding to it. Her appointment will not be frozen in case of any controversy and she was appointed by the director board after holding detailed discussions, said secretary Aji Krishnan. HRDS is not affiliated with the BJP, he added.

‘Came to know about Swapna through a friend. When said that she has financial difficulties and urgently needs a job, asked to send her biodata. She was appointed after an interview with the HRDS department. Although the case remains, she is only subject to allegation. The court has to decide whether she is guilty or not. She was given the job considering her experience in this field,’ said Aji Krishnan.

‘Some in the BJP will be in the organization but the HRDS has no affiliation with the party. Sivasankar, involved in the case has entered service again. Then why stoking a controversy when Swapna is appointed in HRDS, such double standards should be stopped,’ demanded Aji Krishnan.

BJP state chief K Surendran had the other day stated that the BJP has no connection with the HRDS.
