KASARGOD: The BJP activists closed the Kasargod district committee office of the party following a dispute with the leadership over the CPM-BJP alliance in the Kumbala panchayat standing committee election. The activists came in a procession and closed the office with chains and lock. The protesters demanded that BJP state president K Surendran reach the venue and resolve the issue.

BJP workers alleged that even after lodging complaints to the leadership several times, no action has been taken. Surendran had earlier informed to arrive in the district today. However, protests erupted after he failed to reach.

The protest, which started at 9.30 am in front of the Kasargod district committee office, lasted for two and a half hours. The activists had approached the leadership with the complaint when the polls were held in December 2020. The protesters shouted slogans as the issue had not been solved for so long.
