THRISSUR: A youth and a woman jumped from the top of a building in Chavakkad. Akshith (23) and Smina (18) both from Chavakkad are the two who jumped from the building. The incident happened at 11 am today. The two seriously injured have now been admitted to the hospital.

They jumped from the top of the old municipal building to the building next to the Kudumbasree Hotel. As it was Sunday, none of the establishments in the building they entered were functioning. It is not clear why they did such an act. The police said the exact details would be known only after the statements of the two are taken.

The police and Chavakkad fire force reached the spot after being informed by the locals. The two were brought down with much effort. They were rushed to the hospital under the leadership of MLA N K Akbar.
