Balakrishnan also justified the government's move to remove the secretary of public administration. "The government has the power to remove any official. It is only media propaganda that the government has given in to the governor. The governor and the government shouldn't always remain as systems of conflict", he commented.
Balakrishnan dismissed the governor's move to give a one-month time limit on the issue of personal staff pensions. He responded that we would be here in a month and would see what would happen then.
"It is misinformation that the personal staff will be replaced after two years. The CPI stated their position. What's wrong with that? The government will look into how to resolve the constitutional crisis", Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said in reply to Kanam's questions.
"The state has been providing pension to personal staff since 1984. MLAs initially did not have a personal staff. There are currently three personal staffers. It isn't if the governor wanted to know things. The government has the right to criticize the wrong policies of the governor. There is no increase in the pension age in the state. There is already a long list of rank holders", Kodiyeri said.
Meanwhile, he said it is up to the governor to decide who should be his staffers and that the party would oppose any intervention by the Centre using the governor in state affairs.
